March 2008

This takes me back to one day during EngJourn2 when, as an extension of our discussion over lunch before that class, Clar and I debated with Rob about forgiving and forgetting.

Obviously our side was the same as Ate Frances’: we’d like to forgive, but we just can’t forget, thus making the forgiving part difficult as well. I don’t know if it’s just a girl thing, or if Rob is just that nice that he can’t even comprehend how one can hold a grudge against another person. The debate was prompted by one of the talks during our (then recently concluded) retreat. I forgot who gave that talk but it was about having a favorite hurt and letting go of it.

Clar and I, though we both knew that the speaker was right and we really should let go, insisted that knowing you should let go and actually letting go are two different things. Rob insisted that not letting go was completely pointless. “Why do you have favorite hurt anyway?” asked Rob, as if the word favorite in that phrase meant the same as the word favorite in favorite color or favorite movie. We jokingly asnwered, “Because it’s fun?” because it was really funny (and frustrating) trying to make Rob understand how we were feeling about our respective favorite hurts. He was like, “How can it be fun???” LOL.

But really. It’s not as if we liked having a favorite hurt. Who likes getting hurt diba? It’s just that it’s the kind of hurt that won’t go away just like that. We know it’s evil to keep harboring negativity against someone and to find evil gratification in being evil towards that person (ha? ano daw?), but it’s easier than trying to (instantly) change those feelings. I guess you just gotta give time (lots of it!) for your favorite hurts heal by themselves, until one day, you just wake up and realize that maybe it’s not a favorite hurt anymore.

Have you ever experienced one of those code blue scenes on Grey’s Anatomy, where your loved one (the patient) suddenly stops breathing and his/her heart stops beating and all these doctors and nurses frantically try to bring him/her back to life? And it seems like time came to a screeching halt and your own heart stopped beating as you stare in fear at the horrific event in front of you?

Well, today that happened to me.

With my beloved BERTING.

Unlike my sister who’s so busy shooting new cooking show episodes and playing Aveyond2 (RPG game that I will never get nor appreciate), I still have a bunch of stuff to do for the coming week.

  • Geog1 magazine (this one I actually like because it reminds me of the old days)
    • Layout!
    • Article/s
    • Ads!
  • Math53 finals. Bah, bukas na lang ako mag-aaral.
  • Geog1 paper
  • Eng11 paper on Without Seeing the Dawn. Man, haven’t read or even touched this in a few years! But even though there’s the easier option of doing my paper on Of Mice and Men instead, I decided to do this because: a) I’m probably the only one in the class who has the book; and b) My prof prefers Without STD (LOL), and I like the challenge. I hope I do a good job on this, though.

Hmm. Not that many things to do, but they’re all so time consuming! Buti nga I don’t have to do the CS12 MP anymore, because I don’t know when I’ll be able to squeeze that in anymore.

BUT… One week more and then it’s freedom! (And yeah, I decided not to take summer classes anymore. I don’t think I can bear more than three hours of Math everyday.)

I know most of you don’t understand my huge crush on Tom Felton, but OMG these two videos nearly killed me! *happy sigh* (Yeah, I can practically hear Cam snickering already, LOL)

I’ve been hoping for this since forever, and finally Tom decided to grant us fangirls our biggest wish. <3333333!

(Yeah I know this was posted almost two months ago but I was really busy around that time, and also I got tired of being disappointed every time I checked for Tom Felton updates so I kinda stopped doing so, LOL. But today I suddenly missed him, and look what I found! Eeeek is now a happy girl.)

Chicken Invaders 3 = BEST GAME EVARRR.

A lot harder than Chicken Invaders 2 though. Like, a lot harder. But the graphics are super nice. Still has the old Chicken Invaders feel, but so much better. There’s a lot of narration now too, which is nice and funny but sometimes I just wanna tell it to get on with the game already! Because it was getting pretty long, really. But yeah. I love Chicken Invaders 3!

Hay, I remember tuloy the old layouting nights. Whenever they (Rob, Ryan, Garrick, Gino) left me alone –to sleep, the bastards! :P–, I’d play Chicken Invaders 2 because it was the only thing that got me through those stressful nights, LOL.

(If you’re wondering what the hell I’m talking about, download Chicken Invaders 3: Revenge of the Yolk here, and see for yourself. Ask me na lang how to unlock the game. ;) )

AI disappointed my for the second week in a row. First David (who’s one of my favorites pa naman), and now Amanda. Seriously. Amanda isn’t really one of my favorites but I like her, at least more than Kristy. Vote Kristy Lee Cook out na, pleeeeeeease!

(Sorry lang late post, I was hearing Mass nung 6pm so I only got to watch the replay)

…Berting. He’s tall, dark, and handsome. Um. What. :))

He’s a 15.4-inch monstrosity, but the size (I originally wanted something 14 inches or less) is the only drawback because he’s everything I hoped for.

I had to shell out an obscene amount of money (ok, not so obscene, but to poor little me that money was a lot) because my mom wouldn’t buy him without any investment from me. She even originally wanted me to pay for half the total cost, but I didn’t have that kind of cash, so she had to settle for what I could give her. But that’s ok because at least I can say that this shiny new laptop is (at least in part) mine, and not just something my mother bought for me. You kinda learn to value it more and take care of it more when you know it’s your money that’s going down the drain if you let it fall and break it or something like that, LOL.

PS. Berting’s lovely name came from Cam, who was of course the first person I introduced him to. She was also the one who decided his gender. The name fits his macho-ness naman, LOL.

Was pretty sick today. I hadn’t even reached UP and I wanted to go home already, but I had a Geog1 exam and an Eng11 paper to submit so I couldn’t. Was super sleepy pa. I don’t even remember my Geog1 exam answers, but I bet it was a load of crap. Hay. I went home immediately after Eng11, then promptly fell asleep since my tummy could not decide whether I’m nauseous or not. Haha. Yesterday probably tired me out more than I thought. But it was super worth it. :)

Yay. Now here’s the most problematic stage: the compiling and coordinating of the pages.

//On file sharing sites and stuff. Super laki kasi ng files eh, hindi na kasya sa egroup.
