Currently there are two kids here in our house, kids of my cousin. One is 12 (yes, my cousins are a lot older than me so my nieces and nephews are almost my age) and the other is three. The older one, a boy, plays or watches youtube on the computer all day, which is why I usually only get to use the internet at night. The younger one is a cute (but a bit spoiled) little girl who eats a lot and expects her grandma to whip her up a meal no matter what time it is (as in. She asks for rice at the weirdest times, such as… 3pm. That’s her merienda na, which is still different from regular meals. I have no idea where she stores all that rice in that little body of hers.). Recently she has taken to sitting with her kuya at the computer and pretending she understands what he’s playing. Of course this annoys the kuya to no end, but he has no choice but to let his sister “join” the game, otherwise he’ll get a good scolding from his lola for being mean towards his sister.

Just a while ago I witnessed how the boy cleverly found a way to make his sister leave.

Sis: *pokes keyboard… until keyboard accidentally falls. No harm done, though.*
Bro: Hala, hala! Pindot ka kasi nang pindot! Hala, nasira na!
Sis: Eh, eh! Di naman! Eehhhhh! *starts to cry*
Bro: Nasira mo na! O, di na pwede gamitin! Hala ka!
Sis: Ehh! Nanaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay! (that’s what they call their grandma)
Bro: Nay, dun daw kayo sa sala! *sends sister out of the room*

And so the little girl runs to her grandma, terrified that she broke the computer.

But of course, she didn’t. The kuya is now happily playing in peace once again. LOL.
